NQ Clubs Hub is a collaboration between community sports clubs, sporting bodies, Local Government, the North Queensland Sports Foundation and provides place-based solutions for our North Queensland Regional & Remote Community Sports Clubs into the future. The platform is tailored to meet the needs of our sport and active recreation communities.

The North Queensland Club Hub initiative supports community sports club capacity development by offering a wide range of easy to access resources.

The NQ Club Hub initiative assembles place based resources and links community sports clubs to:

  • Local Government
  • State Government
  • Federal Government
  • Regional bodies
  • State Bodies
  • Funding Sources

This unique initiative enables community sports clubs to develop robust, sustainable internal capacities into the future.

Sport and active recreation communities have been insistently negatively impacted by natural disasters and more recently COVID-19. Regional communities rely heavily on our sport and active recreation communities to positively contribute to community health and wellbeing. The NQ Club Hub initiative has been developed to provide support for those community sports clubs in regional North Queensland to develop their internal capacities by assembling the necessary resources on one platform.

NQ Clubs Hub is a collaboration between community sports clubs, sporting bodies, Local Government, the NQSF and provides place-based solutions for our North Queensland Regional & Remote Community Sports Clubs into the future. The platform is tailored to meet the needs of our sport and active recreation communities.

The NQ Clubs Hub is an initiative of the Glencore Overlanders Way Festival of Sport supported by Glencore, Charters Tower Regional Council, Flinders Shire Council, Richmond Shire Council, McKinlay Shire Council, Cloncurry Shire Council & Mount Isa City Council. Additional stakeholders are welcome to support the ongoing development of the NQ Clubs Hub and ultimately the benefits to our regional communities.

The North Queensland Sports Foundation (NQSF) was established in 1983 to develop a sporting event to meet with a significant community need. The inaugural NQ Games was hosted in Townsville in 1984 and has continued to develop into the largest regularly run multi-sport event in regional Australia.

Founded by North Queensland Local Government Authorities, the NQSF has matured into a unique and dynamic organization that connects North Queensland resources and communities to deliver an impressive portfolio of events and projects to the region.

In addition, the NQSF is leading the way providing a community initiative to combat obesity and chronic disease. MoveIt NQ is a new and exciting project, having a major impact across North Queensland.
