Sport and active recreation communities have been insistently negatively impacted by natural disasters and more recently COVID-19. Regional communities rely heavily on our sport and active recreation communities to positively contribute to community health and wellbeing. The NQ Club Hub initiative has been developed to provide support for those community sports clubs in regional North Queensland to develop their internal capacities by assembling the necessary resources on one platform.

The North Queensland Sports Foundation (NQSF) was established in 1983 to develop a sporting event to meet with a significant community need. The inaugural NQ Games was hosted in Townsville in 1984 and has continued to develop into the largest regularly run multi-sport event in regional Australia.
Founded by North Queensland Local Government Authorities, the NQSF has matured into a unique and dynamic organization that connects North Queensland resources and communities to deliver an impressive portfolio of events and projects to the region.
In addition, the NQSF is leading the way providing a community initiative to combat obesity and chronic disease. MoveIt NQ is a new and exciting project, having a major impact across North Queensland.
